It happened last night, April 15th, the amfAR Inspiration Gala in São Paulo, an event launched in 2010 to raise funds for the organization’s AIDS research programs while celebrating fashion around the world. Over the years, the gala has been held in several major cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, and Toronto. São Paulo hosted it for the 6th time, and over U$8.5 million have been raised over the years in the Brazilian city’s event alone to benefit amfAR’s initiative.

Besides the philanthropy, the yearly affair also attracts the who’s who of the fashion and celebrity worlds, with the 2015 gala in São Paulo having iconic model Naomi Campbell as the official presenter and musical performances by Brazilian singer Alcione and Australian Pop singer Kylie Minogue. Also in past editions, artists such as Mary J. Blige, Gilberto Gil, Bebel Gilberto, and Jennifer Hudson have performed, and celebrities such as Fergie, Janet Jackson, Pelé, Jean Paul Gaultier, and the legendary singer Cher, among others, have been honored for supporting and raising awareness for HIV research.

This year’s event was once again presented by Naomi Campbell, together with the names of entrepreneurs Dinho Diniz, Felipe Diniz, and designer Riccardo Tisci, and performances by Latin singer Ricky Martin and Brazilian star Ivete Sangalo.
