The popular and beloved Brazilian footwear Melissa is always on point when it comes to collaborating with the fashion world’s finest designers. The brand’s impressive background include the names of Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Jason Wu, among others. For the Spring/Summer 2016, enfant terrible Jeremy Scott (also the designer for Moschino) debuts a collaboration with the plastic fantastic brand on six bold and vivid signature creations: an ankle boot, two styles of flats, a sandal, a mule and even a mini version for little fashionistas.
Besides vivid colors and sassy designs, each of Scott’s styles features a rubber mouthpiece that is meant to “inflate” the shoes, inspired by swimming pool floats. How fun is that?
The colorful campaign was shot by legendary Italian photographer Oliviero Toscani and stars Scott himself along with his favorite fresh-faced models.
The Melissa + Jeremy Scott collection is now available online at shopmelissa.com, with prices ranging from $88 to $210. Styles will be also available at Collette in Paris, 10 Corso Como in Milan, Isetan in Tokyo, and Alchemist in Miami.
Having in mind that Scott’s clientele includes Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Rita Ora, we expect to see many stars wearing Melissa’s candy plastic shoes all season long – ’cause you know that that’s what we are going to do!
