Pico Garcez’s photos will make you want to fly to Salvador

Pico Garcez evolved his photographic eye and found his identity as an artist by traveling the world. A native of São Paulo, his work has been shown in prestigious art galleries in New York, Miami, Bogotá, and of course, Brazil, where The Rio Art Museum (MAR) acquired one of his photographs as part of their permanent collection, due to its great representation of Rio de Janeiro. However, it’s in magical Salvador – Pico’s home for over 20 years now – that he finds his biggest inspiration, by capturing intimate images of the ordinary life of the baianos and that natural flair that only Bahia possesses.
